Meet the Breeder
Sarah Thompson — 18 years of Russian Blues.
Founder · Head Breeder · TICA Registered Since 2007
I'm Sarah, the breeder behind every Azurine kitten. I founded this cattery in 2007 after a decade as a registered veterinary technician and an M.Sc. in Animal Welfare Science from the University of Edinburgh. I've personally raised more than 200 Russian Blue kittens, sit on the TICA Russian Blue Breed Council, and have spoken at CFA International symposia on HCM screening.
Every email, application, video call, and homecoming day is handled by me — not a manager, not an assistant. That's the only way I know to raise a kitten you can trust.

The Azurine Story
A lifetime devoted to one extraordinary breed.
For nearly two decades, Azurine has been a quiet, intentional cattery dedicated solely to the Russian Blue. We do not breed for volume. We breed for refinement — for the dense double coat that shimmers like brushed silver, the precise emerald gaze, and the gentle, devoted temperament that defines this ancient breed.
Our program is built upon imported European bloodlines, rigorous health screening, and an unwavering commitment to the families we place kittens with. Every Azurine kitten is more than a companion — it is a continuation of a legacy.

About Our Russian Blues
Russian Blue Kittens For Sale from a TICA & CFA Registered Breeder
Azurine Cattery offers ethically bred Russian Blue kittens for sale to discerning families across the United States and abroad. As a registered Russian Blue cat breeder with the International Cat Association (TICA) and the Cat Fanciers' Association (CFA), every Russian Blue cat we place carries documented European bloodlines, a verified pedigree, and a complete health record.
Families searching for a Russian Blue cat for sale choose Azurine for three reasons: rigorous health testing (HCM, PKD, and full feline genetic panels), early socialization underfoot from day one, and lifelong breeder support. Learn more about our health testing protocols, meet our queens and studs, or review our six-step adoption process.
The Russian Blue is a naturally occurring breed prized for its dense double silver-blue coat, vivid emerald eyes, and quietly devoted temperament. The breed's documented history traces back to the port of Arkhangelsk in northern Russia. Our program preserves these hallmark traits through limited, carefully planned litters — never more than three per year.

Frequently Asked
Buying a Russian Blue Kitten
- Are your Russian Blue kittens for sale health-tested?
- Yes. Every Russian Blue kitten for sale at Azurine comes from parents screened for HCM, PKD, and a full feline genetic panel. Kittens leave with a pediatric vet exam, vaccinations, microchip, and a written health guarantee.
- How much does a Russian Blue cat for sale typically cost?
- Pet-quality Russian Blue cats for sale from a registered breeder generally range from $1,800 to $3,500 USD; show- and breeder-quality Russian Blues are higher. Pricing reflects health testing, pedigree, early socialization, and lifelong breeder support.
- Do you ship Russian Blue kittens?
- We do not ship kittens alone in cargo. Russian Blue kittens are delivered via in-cabin flight nanny, hand-delivery by the breeder, or in-person pickup at our cattery — never as unaccompanied freight.
- How do I reserve a Russian Blue kitten?
- Submit an inquiry through our contact page. After a short consultation we match you to an available or upcoming Russian Blue kitten and secure your reservation with a deposit. Families on our waiting list receive first access to each litter.
- Are Russian Blue cats hypoallergenic?
- Russian Blues are not 100% hypoallergenic, but they produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein than most breeds and their dense double coat sheds minimally — many mildly allergic owners tolerate them well.
