Health Guarantee

Every Azurine Russian Blue kitten is placed with a written, signed health guarantee. The summary below is reproduced verbatim from our purchase contract.

10-Day Initial Health Period

Within 10 days of homecoming, you must have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian. If the kitten is found to have any pre-existing health condition affecting long-term viability, Azurine will replace the kitten with one of equal value from a current or future litter, or refund the purchase price at our discretion.

2-Year Congenital Defect Guarantee

For 24 months from date of birth, Azurine guarantees the kitten against any life-threatening congenital defect. Replacement kitten of equal value provided upon submission of a licensed veterinarian's written diagnosis.

1-Year Genetic Disease Guarantee

For 12 months from date of birth, Azurine guarantees the kitten against PKD, PKDef, and the panel of hereditary conditions screened for in our breeding program. Both parents are DNA-tested and negative for all panel conditions through UC Davis VGL.

HCM Coverage

Both parents are echocardiogram-screened for HCM annually by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist. While HCM cannot be entirely guaranteed in any cat, kittens diagnosed before 24 months of age qualify for replacement.

Conditions

This guarantee requires the kitten be kept indoors, maintained on a vet-approved diet, kept current on vaccinations, and never declawed. Full terms in the purchase contract.
