For New Families

Kitten Care Guide

First 48 Hours

Set up a single quiet room — ideally a bedroom or small office — with food, water, litter, a soft bed, and 2–3 familiar toys. Russian Blues are sensitive to environmental change; restricting territory at first creates security.

Nutrition

Continue the diet sent home in your kitten binder — premium wet food 3x daily, transitioning to 2x daily after 6 months. We supply a 12-week transition guide if you wish to change to a different brand.

Litter & Environment

Unscented clumping clay, scooped twice daily. One box per cat plus one extra. Avoid scented additives — Russian Blues are particularly olfactory.

Socialization

Gentle handling 4–6 short sessions daily. Introduce household members one at a time. Do not introduce other pets for the first 7–10 days.

Veterinary Schedule

First wellness visit within 10 days of homecoming. Booster vaccinations per the schedule in your binder. Spay/neuter between 5–8 months.

Lifelong Support

Email or text Sarah anytime. We mean it — many Azurine families remain in touch for the full lifetime of their cat.
